About Behold the Upright

Welcome to my blog, Behold the Upright!

'Behold the Upright' is taken from the verse above, Psalm 37:37.

According to Thomas Watson, there are two connotations for the Hebrew word 'upright'.

1. "[Upright] signifies plainness of heart; the upright man is not plaited in folds; he is without collusion or double-dealing, "in whose spirit is no deceit," Psalm 32:2.  The upright man has no subterfuges, his tongue and his heart go together, as a well-made dial goes with the sun; he is downright sincere.

2. This word upright signifies a man approved. The upright man is one whom God thinks highly of. Better have God's approbation, than the world's acclamation. The plainer the diamond is—the richer; the more plain the heart is—the more it shines in God's eyes."

About Me

I am a Christian teen girl with a passion for the Lord and telling others about him. I live in beautiful Texas with my family, where we have wonderful friends and a lovely church community. I am a part of a community called Do Hard Things started by Brett and Alex Harris, which motivates and inspires teens to break free of the low expectations set on young people by the world and strive for bigger, harder things for the glory of God. But enough about me.

My blog is my hard thing.

I love talking about Jesus to others and I love writing, so "Behold the Upright" is a combination of both, trying to let my light to shine for Christ, so that others might see Christ in me. We will study God together through favorite bible verses, interesting themes in theology, and challenges for readers to try.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you will come back for new posts every Sunday!
